The Voice for Illinois Forests

This page lists events for the IFA and other forestry organizations in Illinois.  The sponsoring organization(s) are indicated.  It is not always possible to provide complete descriptions for other organizations' events, but we try to at least provide you with a contact for more information.

For easy scanning of this list to find events near you, each title begin with the county in which it will happen.

About Registration

Even though most of these events are free and open to the public, it will help the organizers to know how many will be attending.  So, please register for these events whenever possible.  This will also help you, because if weather looks threatening, the organizers can easily send you a message about whether the event will be held or delayed or cancelled.

Some partner organizations are handling registration for certain events.  For those, registration is disabled.

If you have an upcoming event that you feel relates to forestry in, or near, Illinois, please send the details including contact information to the administrator

If you have any problem with this Event List or any problem registering for an event, please post a comment on our HELP Forum under the "Events Problems" topic.

    • Tree Farm Webinar

Many landowners might have archaeological sites on their property, either prehistoric or historic, but they might not even know it. This webinar will discuss what sites look like, how you can recognize different kinds of artifacts and sites,  and what to do if you do have a site on your property, including ethical strategies for site discovery and protection.  Some topics will include:

    • Where are sites located?
    • How can I find out if I have a site on my property?
    • Are all the sites on the ground surface or can sites be deeply buried?
    • How can you tell if a rock is just a rock or an ancient tool?
    • What if I find bones on my property?
    • Who do I tell about the site on my property?
    • Are there any tax benefits to having a site?
    • Will a site affect how I can use my property in the future?
