Content: The 2008 Illinois Walnut Council annual meeting will take place on the Schmoker Tree Farm near Eldred, IL (Greene Co.)Should be some beautiful color in the Illinois River valley. Tour will feature 30 yr old tree plantings; evaluating natural regeneration processes; the fight against invasive plants as well as demonstrations on chain saw care - portable sawmill - tractor winches for log skidding - pruning and tree felling techniques. Come for all or part of this hands on field event as your schedule will allow. Social hour and dinner on Saturday evening.
