Reforestation & Habitat Restoration on the Farm

  • 10/26/2016
  • 7:45 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Champaign County (OCT 14 registration deadline!)

Have you seen what is going on in the countryside?  Many farmers are planting pollinator mixes, prairie plants, and trees to help save our resources. Master Naturalists, along with the Champaign County Soil and Water Conservation District, have found four farms to show what farmers have been doing in their fields over the last 20 years.  This tour will cover topics experienced by the farmers, from pruning and thinning of trees to the best way to get a pollinator seeding to grow.  It will also show the need for Master Naturalists to help farmers with plant ID and maintenance.  Join us for a bus tour of 4 different stops in Champaign County and see how a great habitat can be made for our furry friends and pollinators!
